Roller derby is a sport.
It should never become the biggest cause of stress in your life..It should be an empowering, exhilarating part of your life where you can be whomever you need to be, it should not be a clique. You can eat, breathe and sleep roller derby, but it should not control your entire life. You’re allowed to have friends and family off the track. You’re allowed to have a job other than blocker, pivot or jammer.
If you’re fresh meat, we will teach you everything you need to know to become a better skater and refine your skills to become a better DERBY skater. If you’re looking for extra practice time, we will give it to you. If you simply need a break, we will help you maintain your skills until you’re 100%. If you’re being overwhelmed by life in general, you don’t have to quit the sport you love.
Though we are a recreational roller derby league we are every bit as serious and devoted to the sport as our ranking sisters. We never forget to put safety first and most importantly never forget when we’re wearing roller skates-we should be smiling-we should be having fun.
The Resort City Roller Dolls of Virginia Beach are here to play derby, teach derby, and spread the word according to derby to the community and beyond. That’s it.
